File Validation

🟣

File Validation

Videos and photos are scanned with our File Validation (beta) system. This is primarily intended to scan policyholder uploaded files, however adjuster uploaded files are scanned too.

The following checks are performed

  • Geocode - Compares the GPS data encoded in a video or photo with the claim address, warns when the video or photo was taken away from the claim site.
  • Similar Image - Adjusto searches for exact matches of uploaded images to see if they were taken from the web
  • AI Detection - Adjusto uses a probabilistic AI detection platform to look out for AI generated videos and images

These checks are meant for guidance purposes, it is up to the adjuster to review policyholder submitted files for accuracy and any determination of fraud.

Reviewing and Resolving

If you determine that a flagged file is actually valid, you can resolve the warning. To do this either:

  • Open the item detail view (click the description of an item) with a file flag, scroll down to File Validation Checks, click Review, add your reasoning, and then click Mark as Valid.
  • Open the Photos & Videos tab, find the file that Needs Review, click Review, add your reasoning, and then click Mark as Valid.

The File flag will disappear from all items associated with that file.

Handling Suspected Fraud

If you are reviewing a policyholder supplied file that appears to be fraudulent, do the following:

Adjusto Remote adjuster: Contact the Adjusto team member you’re working with

Insurance company or TPA adjusters: Follow your standard procedure for suspected fraud (e.g. escalate to your SIU team)
