How can we help? 👋

Crash Course: Videos & Photos

Step 2: Using videos to capture losses as an adjuster

Adjusto makes it easier than ever to create a loss sheet. All you need is your phone’s camera.

Both adjusters and policyholders can use videos and photos to automatically generate there loss sheet.

In this section we’ll walk through how adjusters (especially field adjusters) can use videos and photos to document a loss.

Which should I use, photos or videos?

Videos.

Videos allow you to focus and move around items. You can talk about items as your record them, and focus better on them.

Photos do work, however you’ll need to review and update them more in the Draft Items page before you submit them for processing.

Step 1: Open the Photos & Videos tab

Start by opening your claim on your phone and navigating to the Photos & Videos tab.

This is where all your uploads are organized.

Step 2: Select or add a Room

Before uploading anything, you should find the Room you want to upload to or create a new one.

All the items extracted from your videos will be assigned to this room, so it’s important to keep things organized upfront.

You can always add or rename Rooms after you take videos or pictures, but it’s best practice to plan out the rooms first. It helps you stay organized.

Step 3: Record your videos (or take your photos)

Use your phone’s normal camera app to record your video. This way

A few quick tips on recording videos:

  • Pan over items slowly, but not super slowly. You just need to be able to make out what is in frame.
  • Talk about what you’re recording: “Here’s a printer, it’s 4 years old, I bought it from Amazon.” The AI knows how to handle all those details.
  • Focus on brand logos and model numbers, the AI can pick those up and add them to the description. You can pickup and turn over items, so long as you’re recording.
  • Keep it under 3 mins. You can add as many videos as you’d like, so don’t worry about taking a bunch.
  • Rule of thumb: if a person can tell what the item is when they watch the video, the AI can too

Use your phone’s normal camera app so videos are saved locally, letting you upload them later on a strong connection instead of waiting on slow, one-by-one uploads in the field.

Step 4: Upload your videos (and/or photos)

Once record, return to Adjusto and upload your videos and photos to their respective rooms.

Step 5: Review your items

After uploading, Adjusto will process your videos and automatically extract items. You’ll receive an email once processing is complete.

Head to the Items tab, where your newly added items will appear in the Drafts view, ready for review.
