Crash Course: Reporting

Step 3: You’ve worked the Claim, let’s create a report

Before You Start

This is the third part of our crash course. We strongly recommend you start with Crash Course: Create & Work a Claim.

We’ll be using our test claim from part one, so follow along and try each step yourself.

What’s a Report?

Reports are the final output of claim in Adjusto. When you’ve worked a claim to the point you’re ready to issue a payment to the policyholder, you’ll create a Report.

It saves all the totals, items, and product matches in a single place that you can export and share with a policyholder.

If any items in the claim are stilled Flagged Items, they won’t contribute to the claim’s total values. They have their own section in the Report.

You can’t delete or modify reports, but you can create new reports that contain any changes you make to a claim.

Create a Report

Open up the Reports tab in your claim.

Here you’ll see the number of items with changes since you’ve last made a report, along with the total:

  • RCV
  • Depreciation
  • ACV
  • Recovered Depreciation
  • Deductible
  • Balance

Click Create Report to save the first report.

Then click Report 1 to open the report.

View a Report

This report view is only visible to adjusters. You can see totals, charts on item prices, breakdowns by rooms, and the full list of items.

You can export the full list of items from the report in a variety of different formats.

Flagged Items in Reports

It’s okay to have flagged items when you create a report, but remember that Reports are meant to correspond with Payments.

You can resolve the flags and publish a subsequent report, which would correspond with a supplemental payment.

Flagged Items are put into their own tab in the adjuster Report view.

Additional Reports

You can make as many reports as you need. Each one will track the changes since the last report was generated. You might make a additional report for a variety of reasons:

  • Flagged items get resolved
  • Policyholder disputes an item
  • Depreciation is requested
  • More items are submitted

Go back to your Items view and resolve a flagged item or add a new item manually to the claim, then come back to the Reports tab.

You should see the changes you made listed. Click Create Report.

In my claim, I resolved one flag, which resulted in a $108.25 balance increase.

Policyholder Reports

Adjusto creates a policyholder friendly report that’s easy to share.

Open up your latest report and click Print Report.

This creates a report that’s print friendly, PDF friendly, and sharable with the policyholder.

It includes:

  • Claim Details & Totals
  • Room Totals
  • The full items list, with links to matched products
  • Flagged Items, in their own section

Saving the PDF with Links

To save the report to a PDF, use your browser's print function and select Save as PDF .

Note: Chrome requires you to to set the Destination as "Save as PDF" in order to maintain the hyperlinks in each item. There's a few other options that let you save a PDF in Chrome's print dialog, but these break the links

Your Chrome print settings should look like this:

Practice

To get the hang of reports, keep adding in new items or updating existing ones, then generate a new report.
