We’re going to pick up from Crash Course: Policyholder Collaboration where we walked through how they can use photos and videos to add items.
Reviewing Policyholder Photos & Videos
When a policyholder submits an item that came from a video, you’ll be able to see it too.
Click on an item to open the details view and scroll down till you get to the Images and Item Source.
- Images will have a screenshot of the item from the video
- Item Source has the full video
Photos & Videos Tab
You can also see every video in a claim in the Photos & Videos tab.
These are organized by Room.
Fraud Checks
Every video is run through our fraud check system. This system is designed to help you spot fraud, however you or your fraud investigation team must decide if it actually is fraudulent.
You can use these sample files to trigger fraud checks.
We have three different checks in place:
- Geocode - Was this photo or video taken at the claim site
- Similar Image Search - Was this photo taken from the web
- AI Generated - Was this photo or video created with generative AI
If any video is detected to be potentially fraudulent, you’ll see a big yellow banner letting you know. The items associated with that video will have a yellow “file” flag next too.
Click on View details to see the potential impact in the Claim Details tab.
Open the Photos & Videos tab to see which photos or videos have been detected as possibly fraudulent.
Geocode
Most smartphones attach a latitude & longitude geocode to photos & videos. We compare that with the address of the claim to make sure it’s taken within a 2 mile radius.
Geocodes aren’t always included depending on phone privacy settings.
Similar Image Search
We’ll flag a photo if it looks like it was taken from the internet. We’ll include information
AI Generated
We assign a probability that a photo or video is AI generated.
Mark as Valid
Just because the fraud detector went off doesn’t mean the file is actually fraudulent. You can dismiss the fraud warning for a file and all its associated items.
Click More Info to bring up the fraud details modal.
Click Mark as Valid and add in you reasoning as to why it is valid. Then click Save to finish up.
You can also see Fraud Detection Checks in the Item details view. You can click More Info to open the Fraud modal here as well, and mark the file as valid too.
Remember, marking a file as valid marks it across all items, even when you do it from here. So if a video had 3 different items, the Fraud Flags on all 3 items will be dismissed.
